Keep your Toddler Safe with Safety Gates

At Lindam we are all about baby safety; that is why we offer you a variety of safety gates to choose from so that you keep your child (and your mind) in the right place! The right time to install safety gates around the house is just before your baby begins to crawl or to take his/her first steps. They are designed and tested to help keep him/her safe up to the age of 24 months.

The first decision you have to make is where you want to have safety gates fitted in the house (you have probably already guessed, it’s almost never “just” one!). We suggest that you start by securing the top and the bottom of the stairs as, according to CAPT (Child Accident Prevention Trust), the largest number of non-fatal injuries occur when children fall -and babies and young children in particular are in danger of falling from one level to another (such as from a chair or from stairs).

You can also choose to restrict access to the kitchen or the bathroom; these rooms are every house’s “dukes of hazard”, since your baby might get his/her hands on cleaners and chemicals. If you are worried about your child’s night adventures though, you can fit a safety gate to his bedroom door and prevent him/her from wandering around the bedroom or the bathroom unsupervised.

As soon as you decide on how many safety gates you need it is essential that you pick the suitable ones; think about the location of the gate and the width of the gap.

At Lindam our solutions divide into two main categories:  the “pressure fit” and the “wall mounted” safety gates. If you ideally want to avoid drilling holes into your walls then pressure fit safety gates will put a great smile on your face! Fitted within a “u” shaped frame, which enhances the stability and safety of the gate through added strength, these products can also be extended (reaching a maximum gate width of up to 138 cm). These gates do not require any drilling and can be installed in a matter of minutes.

If you are looking for a stair gate to fit at the top of a flight of stairs, then we advise you to opt for a gate from our wall mounted category. These gates do not have a bottom rail so there is no tripping hazard for you and your baby when approaching the stairs! They can also be extended to fit a maximum of 106 cm width.

When you know which category of gate is more suitable for your house (maybe you need to choose from both), then the only thing left to do is browse through our range of safety gates and pick the ones that you like the most! You will be amazed at how many different features we have to offer on each one, so take your time and go for the ones that will keep you calm when not in the same room with your child… and your toddler in the right place!
